Do any of you listen or read Dr. Carlson's material. I have heard him "by accident" on the radio over the last few years. I looked him up in Dec. online. I signed up for his Intentional Living devotion and newsletter. What attracts me is his teaching, making ONE change at a time, instead of looking at EVERYTHING we want to change and getting frustrated. Perhaps joining First Place is a result of my Intentional Devotions that I have been doing about a month.

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. Isaiah 41:10 NIV
Faithful Hope
What makes you afraid?
Psychologists have identified a variety of fears. The extreme fear of heights, open spaces, the dark, crowds, elevators, animals and water are just a few. People experiencing any of these fears can literally be paralyzed by them.
You may not suffer these types of extreme fear, but you do know how it feels to be afraid. God offers a sure cure for fear: hope. Fear and hope cannot exist together. Fear deceives; hope believes. Fear is based on feelings; hope is based on facts. Fear makes you weak; hope makes you strong.
In today's verse, God says He is with you and He is your God. He will strengthen and faithfully help you in all areas of your life. You have nothing to fear. With God, you surely have hope!

How can you better trust God with those things that make you afraid?:
