RIP my sweet Chloe

I am so incredibly heartbroken tonight. Everything hurts. I can not stop crying. I came home to find my precious chihuahua Chloe had passed away in her bed while I was at work. My other two chihuahuas simply stood by the bed waiting for me to get home as if to tell me "It's ok mommy, she's passed on but knows you loved her. We watched her for you til you got home." I just felt like a huge mountain of cement had been dropped on my chest. If it hadn't been for my neighbor, my best friend, my mother and my sister, I don't know what I'd have done. We took her to the vet near my home where they allowed me to spend time with her til they had to take her back. I just didn't want to let go - just last night she was running around, not a care in the world and this morning she just seemed like she had a cold and wanted to snuggle in her bed. She died peacefully .. I just can't make heads or tails of it. She was a beautiful spirit that had come out of a rough life. A woman found her in the streets of Trenton (NJ) where several kids had been trying to light her on fire, broke her leg and left her there. The woman turned her into a shelter and she was then picked up by a foster rescue which is how I came to get her. She had a red "8" on her back and a little Harry Potter lightning mark of white on her forehead. Her little tail would go a mile a minute, often in circles. We'd laugh that she would fly away if she kept going. She loved to fight with her sister and then immediately make up by kissing her face. She would whine and whine, but eventually jump up on the ottoman and jump on my bed where she would shower me with kisses and snuggle at the end of the bed with her brother (or step on him as he would growl under the covers). She would grunt and snort - we used to call her the Angry Pig, like Angry Birds.. she loved to go on her big bed and rub her back and snort and sneeze and then run to me so I could brush her. She loved to go in my room and just lay on one of the snuggle beds til it was time for bed... I can just see her now running down the hall to come get me so we could go to bed, as it's way past our bedtime. But she won't be coming to get me.. she won't rub her back anymore, she won't snort, she won't make me carry her on the last part of our walks.. she's gone. Gone with Jesus to Rainbow Bridge. How selfish this sounds, but I just want her back with me to love for one more day, to tell her how much she means to me and to thank her for her teachings of love and compassion and patience and kindness. I will never forget you Chloe... there will be tears for many days and confusion as to why this happened to you. But I do not regret giving you a life, a wonderful life for the 5 years you were with us...you made me one of the happiest people ever. May you sleep well in Heaven my little bear.. I love you. Love - Mommy, Bailey and Rocky...

Aww you poor thing I can't imagine what you're going through right now. Chihuahuas are very loyal little things and I'm sure she loved you just as much as you loved her. You have two other little babies that need your love now more than ever and Chloe will always be in your heart. R.i.p Chloe x0

I'm sorry for your loss.:flowerforyou:
I know it is hard when they pass away. They are more then just a pet, they are part of our family, they become our babies. its going to hurt for a little, but sophthesloth is right you have 2 other babies that need your love and comfort, and take comfort from them as well. remember Chloe will always hold a special spot in your heart. :flowerforyou:0 -
Thank you for your support friends. It's appreciated.0

So sorry about your loss. I have lost 4 beloved pets throughout the years (2 poodles, 2 cats). We now have 2 wonderful Chihuahuas which I am aware that we will eventually lose as well. At least that will be over 10 years away (knock on wood). Chloe was very lucky that you came into her life and she knew it. Her life, and yours, was better because of it.

I am very sorry for your loss. Our pets are a vital part of our lives. They ask for little and they gives us everything. A sudden passing is especially hard--we all can sympathize with your sadness. Thank you for giving Chloe such a wonderful rescue and a happy life.0
