Gareth Thomas was a celebrated Welsh Rugby Union player - a typical rugger bugger bar one thing - he was gay!
He struggled with his homosexuality and finally came out in 2009. Channel 5 (in the UK) has featured Gareth Thomas' story on its My Secret Past strand and you can watch the whole 50 min programme here (sadly only available to residents of the UK)

The programme not only discusses Gareth's 20 years of torture in keeping his sexuality secret from everyone he cared about and living a lie, but also features two young men who have also recently come out and how homophobic bullying - however seemingly light-hearted - is still having a negative effect on young gay people.
