Losing Muscle

I'm losing muscle and starting to feel flabby and bloated all day! My arms and ankles feel horrendous and my waist is just ridiculous--I guess the big belly is unavoidable--lol. I have 20 more weeks, so I need to devise a strategy to get some of that muscle back! Does anyone have any favorite arm/back/core/leg exercises safe during pregnancy that you wouldn't mind sharing?!

I guess I should stop drinking diet soda too...that'll help with the bloated part...:O(.

I know what you mean. I usually walk instead of run now and I can already feel my legs growing weaker. My arms have always been weak anyway and they are just going to get worse. I've been thinking about adding strength training to my workouts. I don't know if you do that already, but there are quite a few guides and workouts online you can follow. I'm just going to get some really light weights a try to do it a couple of times a week to retain the muscle. More muscles means more calories burned and that can only be a good thing right?

I intend to do the 30 day shred again once I get my energy back, my dr. Is ok with it just told me to listen to my body. It uses some body weight strength exercises and small weights. There are jumping jacks etc but I might just modify some of those moves if I can't do it. The exercise is free on YouTube but maybe ask you dr first too. My dr. Told me it is great to continue the same exercises that I was ding prior to becoming pregnant but not to start from zero to intense if i were not exercising before.

I have the Women's Health Big Book of Exercises, which includes TONS (as in 600+) of strength training moves. It has about a dozen premade workouts in it, including a prenatal one that is split up into 3 trimesters. I recommend checking it out!
