Pounds per week - 1-1.5 or 2?

Question for my PCOS ladies -- I've been set to lose 1-1.5lbs per week so my daily calorie amount was set to 1400 calories. I've found this doable.
I read on a message board that if you've got more than 70 lbs to lose, then you should plan for 2lbs per week as its doable and should be losing at this rate.
So I went back to my goals and changed it and now it says I should eat 1200 calories a day. I normally eat back my exercise calories, so it feels like now I have to work out to get enough food as 1200 feels so restrictive!
I'm wondering with my PCOS, should I stick with the 1-1.5lb/week since I have a harder time losing? Or have you had success with 2lbs a week?

I'm losing 1.5-2lbs most weeks. Eating 1200 calories. I run 3 times a week and eat back my exercise cals, which helps me to feel not to restricted. I'm 5'4 and started at 194, now I'm down to 180 in about 5 weeks of work. So far the PCOS hasn't effected my ability to lose weight but I know it really effects some women. Good Luck on your journey!0

I would stick to the 1 pound per week. If you feel restricted, you will be more likely to want to give up. Not to mention, too few calories and you'll stall your weight loss.
And just because you have it set to lose 1 pound per week doesn't mean you'll ONLY lose1 pound per week. As you get adjusted to the new food intake, you may lose more in the beginning. The body is funny that way.0 -
I agree 1,200 is kinda restricted. Have you worked out your TDEE and BMR? My goal is 2,000 a day it seems to be working. i'd do whatever feels better for you0
