Heart Palpitations?

I get them all the time. I've had a few EKG's, an echo and did a holter monitor. Dr's can't find anything wrong. Which is good! But I still have them all the time and they freak me out! I feel like a heart attack waiting to happen. That's most of the reason I decided to buckle down and lose the weight. So I'll stop panicking that every flutter, skipped beat, thumb pain lol, is a sign of an impending heart attack. I feel like being healthier will help curb some of that anxiety.

Sometimes I feel like the doctors stress me out more. I have clinically diagnosed anxiety and social phobia. Everytime I go to the doc I get stressed...they inevitably spend 10 minutes telling me to calm down and then check my bp every 5 minutes for the next 30. Kind of hard to calm down when your telling me im going to have a heart attack if I dont. Bah!

I like you am hoping that some weight loss can turn things around.

I feel like stress is another trigger for me. I live in a constant state of being stressed out and worried. I used to have horrible anxiety attacks and it would make me feel like I was having a heart attack. And it's an endless cycle. I have heart palpitations, I stress about them, notice them more, have more, it never ends. Hopefully weight loss helps us both. I know that with PCOS and thyroid problem, both effect my hormones, hormones effect my mood. Weight loss is the number one thing they recommend to curb symptoms for both of my health problems. So, following that logic, weight loss will make my hormones level out and will reduce stress mentally and physically. :) Sorry for rambling. haha!

You could be having panic attacks. feels just the same as a heart attack or a flutter likeyou described. If you are stressed and anxious this might be the issue. Good for you for taking your health seriously.

It really could be the stress. I have several issues with my heart. A lot of it comes from being pregnant and how my body reacted to that. I get chest pains a lot and worry about it too. It isn't my heart causing them though even though the symptoms are the same. I started taking a half a Xanax when it was happening a lot and it would stop it. Reassured me then it wasn't my heart causing the chest pain! Drives me crazy because I am afraid I will ignore it and it will be my heart sometime.

I think losing weight will help us both!
