Sick / Drinking Question

Hey VSG peeps, I need some advice. I have been the lucky recipient of a good ole' sinus infection. I went yesterday and received a steroid shot, antibiotics and other meds. FUN for me, I know!
Anyway, my problem is that my throat is staying so dry and the cough gets worse when I am not keeping liquids flowing...how have you handled this in the past with the not drinking thirty minutes before - during - after eating? I am trying to be careful to only take sips when I can't handle it, but wonder how much this is going to mess me up. The steroid shot is bad enough, I am sure!
Thanks for any help you can give!

I don't thinking sipping just enough to moisten your mouth could hurt. After my surgery, my mouth was soooo dry for a few months that I was miserable. I chewed sugar free gum constantly. It was the only thing that worked. Trident Citrus is the best I found that really helped dry mouth the most.0
