What do you do? I've been doing Zumba but I'm looking for some variety.

I try to go for walks to our local park at least every second day with my family - there is a little storm water gully that runs alongside it (which is always dry) and has fairly steep banks so I walk up and down the little hills for about 15 mins - it probably makes me look like an idiot to anyone watching but oh well lol  when we get home my daughter has us doing sit-ups, push-ups and other strength exercises. Also it is summer here so I have been going to the pools and either swimming or walking laps for at least half hour - never enjoyed swimming so much in my life.

I ususally work out at the Y, so my at home is "supplement," but what I use is the WiiFit. I don't like the start and stop of it as opposed to the constant "go" of getting on a machine (elliptical, treadmill, etc), but it gives me a different variety and is a good catch for those times when I can't get out for whatever reason.

I use Just Dance for the Wii with my kids. I'm so very uncoordinated, but it is a lot of fun, and gets all of us active.

Treadmill. Bicep curls, squats, shoulder presses with 10# dumbbells. In the past, I went to some Zumba classes at my gym. I made a CD of the songs and do them at home.

Just got an eliptical with a tension cord for the upper body. Gives a good workout and it was not all that much $$$. I do about 20 minutes a day.
  • I only exercise at home if my downstairs neighbor is out, otherwise I go to the gym . I mostly do exercise DVDs, but I also have a step, stretchy bands and a mat. My most common DVDs are walking DVDs (Leslie Sansone/Madeleine Lewis) or low impact (Gilad) but I'm looking to branch out.

I'm just starting to exercise but I've been making a list of all the types of exercises I can do.
    Yoga
    Walk the dog
    Belly Dance
Use Youtube to learn the latest dances the kids are doing.
    Horse back riding
Call some friends who are also wanting to get in shape and go play tag at the park.
Check the newspaper for exercise opportunities. I like to go to the senior center because those people are my speed.
Get an exercise motivation app like "Zombies, Run!" Makes going for a walk an adventure
Buy a giant ball. Sit on it at TV time, your body will constantly make micro adjustments. Lay on it and do push-ups. Put it behind you on the wall and use it to help support you when you do squats if your knees are bad. Put it on the floor and lay on it facing the ceiling to do crunches. Lay on the floor and pretend you are in the circus, rolling it around with your hands and feet....Yeah, everyone needs a happyfunball. (these are also great to tell little kids to catch, make sure you get video)
Find a friend to exercise with in each others homes.
    Go hiking with friends.
