Ouch, I did too much

Thursday I did speed intervals which tired my legs, then Friday I planned an easy 3-mile run and hour-long bike spin. On the run, though, my legs were tired and I mixed in walking, then shortened my ride to just 20 minutes. Saturday I pushed too hard on my 75-mile ride, using the wind to simulate hills (I have a very hilly double-metric planned in June and no hills to train on where I am now.) My right hip started to ache the last 10 or so miles, and today it aches a little, as well as down the back of my leg. So I'm guessing my piriformis muscle with some sciatic nerve impingement. I should have just taken it easy on the long ride and not tried to fake hills. In fact, after the speed workout Thursday I should have taken Friday off when I had 75 miles planned for Saturday. But I didn't, and this is where I'm at now. I'm not limping or anything, but it aches when I get up from sitting. I have a century ride Feb. 17. I guess I'll call the 75 my last long ride and just go easy this week, let it rest.

Rest up, don't hurt yourself. I think you are ready, so take a couple of days off and rest.0

I think we have all made the mistake of too much to early.0

Thanks, folks. I took a zero day yesterday. Today running and biking don't hurt (4-mile easy run, 14-mile easy bike) and I was OK afterwards as well, but my leg is stiff all the way down the back after I've been sitting. I'm stretching the calf, hamstring, and butt muscles. Thankfully I don't need to be able to sit, I need to be able to bike and run0
