After joining MFP earlier this month, I set out to lose up to 10 pounds. I have lost 2, and even then it fluctuates. I'm not the best about logging my foods (especially on weekends), but generally eat pretty well and do at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day.

I am quite disappointed and concerned that even making an effort the weight has not gone anywhere. My new vow it to cut out the almost daily Starbucks Tall non-fat, no-whip hot chocolate. It's an expensive habit anyway. It's also 190 calories and 37 carbs! I used the last of the balance on my beloved gold card this morning, so any slips will be obvious on the credit card statement.

I will replace it with healthier snacks like yogurt and string cheese. Any other snack suggestions?

Has giving up something simple like soda, lattes, etc given you the boost you needed to lose the weight? I just finished a round of provera, so I am looking at this cycle as a fresh start for healthier habits. This will be my first try at clomid. My desire for a baby is much stronger than hot chocolate!!

Two pounds in less than a month is good. I hope you are not saying you were trying to lose 10 lbs in a few weeks - that is not healthy. And you're setting yourself up for failure, especially since weight loss tends to go slowly for those of us with PCOS.

That said, I think your goal of giving up your hot chocolate is a good one. It is empty calories and eating a lot of sugar will a) make you hungrier a few hours later and b) eat up calories that you can be using for something else.

For the yogurt, a good protein to sugar ratio is more important than whether it is fat free.

    Good luck to you!

I am currently trying to give up coffee too, with it in my daily routine I never go under carbs or sugars at the end of the day. Maybe I would recommend not going cold turkey but save it for a treat.
I also love hot chocolate in these cold wintry months, in the morning I have swapped out for lavish cocoa oatmeal. It gives me that chocolate I crave but health benefits too.

Sorry, meant 10 pounds total. At one point I was down 2 pounds, but then recently checked again and it was more like...down .5 pounds. I'm not sure how much is effort and how much is water weight.

    Thanks for the encouragement, ladies!
