So I have been working on this weight loss thing for it seems like my whole life. and sometimes I just want to give up and quit trying. I have not made any real progress. So How do I get motivated to work out. I work an 8 to 5 job so I should be able to work out in the evenings when I get home. I have a tread mill at my house and tons of DVDS Jillian Michaels and some Tae bo. My mom has an eliptical that I bought and it is at her house. She only lives about 3 blocks away. But how do I make this change to work out and eat better. I belong to a TOPS group and the goal for February is to log our food so maybe if I get serious and do that I will see a difference. apparantly I am eating more than I think. Thanks for listening.

I'm not great at working out. It happens every once in awhile but not often. I do recommend tracking everything you eat. It may seem time consuming at first but it really doesn't take a lot of time. Not sure what you have your calorie goal set at but you may need to re-evaluate. Figure out your bmr and tdee and try to eat between those two. 20% less than tdee is ideal. Here is a great calculator for tdee: http://www.iifym.com/tdee-calculator and here is the one for bmr: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmr-calculator

If you start tracking, make sure you eat right above that number. The goal MFP gives you is a base number and usually lower than where you need to be.

Hope you're able to find the motivation you need to workout. It is hard but once you get going and start losing regularly the motivation should come a lot easier. Like I said before, I'm definitely right there with you on needing to workout.
