Baby's Baptism

We are from a small mission parish and have to share a priest with 2-3 other parishes, spread out over 30-45 miles apart. Our beloved priest was reassigned right after our baby was born. We like to baptize our babies as soon as possible, and our new priest agreed to baptize him this past Sunday...and then found out Thursday night that he had been sent back to his order!
I was told that there would be a priest to fill in, but I was kind of worried. I have to work weekends--I'm a ICU nurse and homeschool the kids during the week--and this is my last weekend off. (My hospital is in a larger city, and I can usually go to Mass on my way to work Saturday evenings.)
Not only did we get a priest yesterday, but he turned out to be the same priest who was the main speaker at the Catholic Men's Conference that my husband attended on Saturday. And he was happy to do the baptism for us.

Just a reminder to not take our priests or the Sacraments for granted! One of these days, I'd love to move to a place that has daily Mass, Adoration, and regular Confession.

Anyway, here are some pics...

You are truly blessed in your beautiful family! I had never thought about Catholics living in areas where priests are so few in number. Thanks for reminding me to be thankful for all the Catholic resources I have available to me.

I live in a very rural area too. Our priest does 2 churches about 25 miles apart. But I don't know how the poor little guy does it! He says mass at both churches everyday except Sunday, when he does 3, 2 in English and one in Spanish. We have benediction every Wednesday before mass. He is also very involved in the community and with the Protestant churches around town. He does retreats and seminars as often as he can. I hate that you had to go through the worry that you did preparing for this blessed sacrament but I am so glad it worked out so well! You are truly blessed!

    Wow, what an energetic man!
This last priest came down to do Mass for us on Thursday evenings, and we had a potluck those nights. I hope whoever is assigned to us next will continue with that.

And thank you all. I never expected to be a mother of seven! But I do feel blessed.

Wow!! God is so good!! What a great story! We also, like to do Baptism's within the two weeks and have had to jump through some pretty crazy hoops to do so. So happy it all worked out!
