Hi! I just joined the group and I'm really excited to meet others w/ PCOS. I was diagnosed last spring and I'm still not sure I'm over the shock. At the time my doctor advised me to pick a method of treatment. She gave me the options of trying to control w/ drugs or diet and exercise based on what my husband and I were planning for a future. After much discussion we decided to let nature take it's course and not go for fertility treatments, but after that decision was made my mind drifted off of the subject and I forgot the other problems associated w/ PCOS and chose to do nothing.
Now, that my symptoms are getting worse and worse everyday and my weight is at an all time high I know that it's time to crawl out of my hole and do something about it. It's going to be hard because right now there are days where I feel that I can't even get out of bed, but I do. I'm afraid that if I don't just start somewhere those days will eventually be days that I don't.
So, I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and hearing how to cope and deal with this. I have to face it and stop running from it.

    Hey there, welcome!

I think it's a great decision for you to try to wait on medication, simply because you can get a good understanding of what your body is doing without it. However, as much as diet and exercise are important and should always be prioritized, don't be afraid to get put on medication if it helps your quality of life. In many cases it can also facilitate how much diet and exercise works for you.

I have really high androgen levels, and after my diagnosis I really didn't want meds, and then I found out my ovaries had doubled in size in 9 months (holy crap!). So bring on the medication, lol.

PCOS is a learning curve... but you can benefit by talking to other women about it, as well as your doctor, and realize that you have options. Every woman with this is different, but we also have a lot in common. Best of luck :flowerforyou:

    Welcome to the group.
Just take one day at a time and remember that you can do this!!!!! PCOS is just a chapter in your life and it wont make or break you! Look at it as just another path on the journey of life.
