Congrats on your place!
Get training early and we'll smash it0 -
My wife gets automatic entry every year so I can always partake. Last did it in 2009 and its my main target this year. My first run will be the great manchester 10k at the end of may.
I'm not going to run until I get down to 217lb to save my knees and hips.0 -
I do this race every year, since it goes past my house and it'd be rude not to...!
There's plenty of time to get the training in, just build up slowly - don't increase long runs by more than 10% a week.
Also, don't feel bad about walking breaks during runs. I swear by them to break up long runs, sometimes!
And the atmosphere on the day is amazing - you'll love it!0 -
I was challenged to do this BUT - I am planning to do the Bristol 1/2 on the same day 15th sept if I'm not mistaken.
I also registered for the London Marathon - EEEEK but no guarantee I'll get a place.0 -

Ben, since you're already under that weight (and already running?), Have you decided whether or not you're doing the GNR? Been following your awesome progress!

Hi Adam
Injuries permitting yes as its one if not the major target this year. Just done 5.6 miles very gingerly as I have got severe runners knee in my good leg 3 weeks ago.
Are you?0 -
I didn't get in but my partner did, hoping to be v bad and get a place on e bay just before. I'm certainly training for it.0
