So, this is nothing weight related, but obviously homeschooling is a part of our lives. To any of you living in SC they are now trying to pass a new bill it's #H3478. This bill will wipe out the third option homeschooling. It will require us to have our children take starndardized testing every year, and also our accountability groups would have to give our names instead of just numbers.
My family homeschools under option 3 and this would be an awful change for us, so any of you who are in SC please contact all of your legislatures and let them know you are against it. There's a facebook page called STOP Proposed Bill H3478, you can get all the numbers and e-mail addresses of any representatives you may need to contact.

I am not from SC, I am from Ontario, Canada - but I just wanted to voice my support for your cause. I think it is ridiculous that the state would require such things. Here all I have to do is send a letter to say I am homeschooling and unless someone complains that my kids are "behind" that's it. No checking in, nothing. They can take the standardized testing in Gr3, 6 and 9 if I want them too and I use Kumon to have a benchmark for myself. I wish you all the best in getting this bill rejected.0
