i was planning on riding (indoors) for about 1.5 hrs tonight and then 4 hrs tomorrow, probably in the morning. is this putting two rides too close together or should it be fine as long as i eat enough?

Depends on your overall fitness level. Since it's a very low-impact activity, it's probably not a big deal. But if your cadio isn't that great, you're asking your heart to do an awful lot of work.
Personally, I usually wait a full day before doing any riding that's 3+ hours. I'm not at that level of stamina just yet.0 -
Listen to your body. It isn't a nutrition issue it is a fitness issue. When touring I routinely do 75 miles a day for extended periods. Doing 60 miles in 4 hours is much different than doing 40 miles in 4 hours. However far you go Enjoy It!!!0

If the rides are slow and steady and you have some level of fitness you should be fine. Listen to your body, it will let you know when you've had enough. When I'm doing multiple rides on the weekends I usually make the Saturday ride longer than the Sunday ride. I hope to do 50-70 miles on Saturday and 30-40 on Sunday this weekend! Just pedal!!0

It depends on how long of a ride you are used to.
I'm used to a 2 hour day every Saturday and Sunday, both including several long threshold and tempo intervals. If I bumped Sunday up to 3 or 4 hours at an easy pace, I could probably handle it.
If 1.5 hours is a long ride for you, then 4 might be pushing it. Still, at a low pace, keeping yourself fueled and your butt from going numb will be the biggest challenges.
Though I've got to give you credit for measuring your workouts by time. That's a really good way to be more accurate in your workout planning and tracking.0 -
As it said, depends what you're used to.
In peak season I can ride for 3 hours one day and do a crit the next.
If you're not fit enough it could really suck though.
Intensity will matter too. The easier you go, more likely you'll complete it.0
