Hi! I am nursing my 6 month old almost exclusively. She only gets one meal of solids and the rest milk. I have a BMR (basal metabolic rate) of 1555. So if i am burning 400 nursing her does that mean i need a minimum of 1955 calories a day? Just curious! Thanks in advance!!

    Yes, that makes sense.

Most advice given to us nursing mamas is to add in extra calories for breastfeeding. Given that eating below BMR isn't recommended, the minimum intake would be 1955 for you.

    Good luck :)
