I'm such a mess lately, and I just don't know what to do. Last year I was on a birth control pill called Juliet.. it's an anti-androgen. I had a lot of headaches, but nothing really too concerning. Eventually I decided to discontinue it and have my hormones tested and that's when I found out about PCOS. I went 9 months trying natural things and then found out my ovaries were in danger and my PCOS is worse than I thought, so I got put back on the exact same pill I used to be on. That was 11 days ago, and y'all I'm so sick I feel like I'm dying!
I have had constant nausea and terrible stomach and chest pain every day and night. It just doesn't go away. I went to the hospital and they said there was no thrombosis or anything, and it sounded like a stomach ulcer. I've had stomach ulcers before, so I started taking Prilosec at the first sign of pain but a week later I'm still just as sick. I'm having trouble eating and sleeping.
I finally decided last night to stop taking this anti-androgen pill. My sickness has perfectly aligned with it, but what I don't get is that I've been on the same medicine before and this didn't happen. And if it's an ulcer why did it suddenly start when I started taking this medicine, and why isn't it going away?
Sorry for the long post, I guess I just needed to get it out. It's physically and psychologically exhausting to be in constant pain and not know why! Looks like more doctor's visits are in the cards this week. It just seems like every week PCOS deals me a different blow, and I didn't realize it would be like this. At this point I'm embarrassed to go to the doctor because it's ridiculous that I always have a new problem!

Don't worry about going to the doctor too much. In the beginning I had so many problems I thought I should just live in the doctors office! LOL Some meds that helped in the past don't help now. I had to change my migrane meds because my body had adjusted to the meds. But when I tried to go back on the meds later (1yr ago) I got horribly sick and all it did was make migranes worse. The doctor informed me that our bodies are always changing. Our system reacts differently all the time to things weve taken in the past. Needless to say I stopped the meds and am now on another med that works well and helps with my blood pressure. I know its not the same thing but thought i'd share that these things happen.
Good luck and in my opinion if its making you sick don't listen to er doctor because YOU know your body. Ask doctor to find something else along those lines and try it. Sometimes I'm not sure where you are but here in NC if you try new meds most doctors can give you a weeks sample. I'd at least look into it.0 -
Hang in there! You should never be ashamed of taking control of your body and health. What would be lame, however, would be to suffer through it in agony because you didn't want to inconvenience anyone else, especially a doctor!
I hope you feel better soon, immediately would be even better.0 -
Talk to your doctor about trying a different low-androgen birth control pill. There are quite a few. I hope you feel better soon - it sounds miserable!0

Thanks for the support. If I'm still having this pain tomorrow I'll go back to the doctor and ask for a test for h pylori bacteria. I actually am feeling a little better the past few hours, so it really may have been the medicine and not an ulcer. I still think it's surprising that it would affect me so differently less than a year later, but like you said it does happen!
I hope there's something out there that works better for me. It's frustrating to have a potential solution fail miserably. But the show must go on...0
