Lost my mojo!

I really need some support here - really struggling at the moment and have well and truly fallen off the wagon!!!
I have a big family wedding in October and have that date as my goal - but have around 50lbs to get to where I want to be and it seems such a lot to lose! Any motivation and support will be greatly received! X

Set lots of mini interim goals, it will feel less intimidating and easier to achieve and as you reach those iterim goals it will boost your confidence and keep you focussed. Lots of mini successes will feel much better than one long-haul slog to the end result :)

you can loose that easily in that time, there will be slip ups and dilemas but ultimately you need to ask yourself if you really want the goal you have set.

i will say now that you must have wanted it in order to set it and that it is not impossible - but do you still want it?

id start by thinking about the positives about the end result:-
    confidence
shock to distant family members, perhaps not even being recognised
    looking fabulous

so what are you doing to loose weight, diet deficit? gym? a.n.other?

do you have a fitness orientated goal other than the weight loss?

remeber that results only happen to thise who do the hard work, this is the same in all areas of life, this goal you have set is the most selfish goal ever, nobody can do it for you and if you achieve it you have done it by yourself and for yourself.

i lost 80lbs in around the same time as you describe, it was a sudden decision that i made to change my life from being a couch potato to being a hardcore fitness freak - once i started i stuck to it... its harder for me to miss the Gym than actually go nowadays its my routine.

back to the original topic GO GET THAT GOAL :)

Set yourself a date to start again by.( that could be now! It was for me when I first come on mfp and did that horrible calculation about what my body fat % was! ) Buy yourself a new piece of kit/ gym membership/diet scales or whatever and take it a day at a time.
    Good luck!

Treat yourself along the way, I bought a rather expensive indulgent gift when I lost the first my 10 Kg.

It probably paid for itself with the money I saved from junk food anyway!

Some great advice in this thread but ultimately your doing this for yourself and there will be times when you will feel like giving up, that's normal, but give in just yet.

I stop-started my regime a few times until I gave some serious thought to why I wanted to loose weight and get healthier, then it all made sense. Set realistic goals and stick to them or you will feel worse.

You have time to start again, it's only February :)

October. Its now Feb. Quick mumble over my fingers and lets call that eight months. Lets make it simple and say 4 weeks per month. Thats 32 week. For ease might as well say 1.5lb loss per week.

So, now go to your goals in MFP and set that as your fat loss goal.

Thats it set in stone and new you can start. Thats a very reachable target.

Not sure how you are on nutrition but biggest things I can suggest is cut out any junk, any ready meals, any false "healthy treats", processed cereals and breads and pasta. Eat nice clean natural foods.

Proteins - Eggs, chicken, fish, lentils,
Veggies/Fruit - Especially Kale, Broccoli, Spinach, sweet pots, blueberries but plenty others
Fats - nuts, avocado, oily fish, olive oil, coconut oil,
Drink lots of water (2-3L per day depending on activity level)
    Dont eat after 8pm.

Dont beat yourself up if you slip up, just quickly dust yourself off, see where you went wrong and push on.

    Best of luck

You can easily drop 50lb by october.

One thing I use is a spread sheet with a chart in it. One axis with my weight and one with a date timeline, plotted on this chart is 2 lines my 'Target weight line' and my 'Actual weight line'. Using this I can see that at the begining I dropped weight faster and as the loss slows down I can see that I'm still on target without getting disheartend.

My current goal is to lose about 35lb and at the moment I'm 8lb ahead of where I want to be, my aim is for 1.5lb a week.
