Neighbor Challenge

Do you know your neighbor that lives just to the left of your home? I've talked to mine a few times, you know, when I'm leaving or getting home but I don't really know them. I'm on a mission to let them know that I think good neighbors make strong, safe neighbors. Any ideas how to approach this?
I would love to see them on MFP, but I don't want to bring it up and seem preachy or pushy. It seems life here is so good that me and most of my neighbors are "fluffy".
