Your favorite makeup looks!

I loved the makeup looks MissK posted (she's pretty much immaculate, I can't believe it), but I'm curious about what are some others' favorite looks and how you achieve them!

I might be boring, but my favorite go to is a bold red lip, black eye liner (top only, very light), a light coating of black mascara and a dusting of golden eye shadow. Define the brow with a pencil (and, if you're a curly girl like me, some brow gel) and you're good to go.

But the truth is, I rely on this look because I'm scared of eye shadow and don't know how to make a bold statement with the eye. Lips are an easy cop out! Just be sure you pack your lipstick to reapply. (Reapply time can be cut down with a little preparation, though -- break out that primer and lip pencil, friends!)

I have really been digging the simple eye/bold lip trend lately, because it's seriously the EASIEST way to pull yourself together. I usually do shimmery light cream on the lids, a warm brown crease with a little smokey blending, heavy mascara (because I like heavy mascara), defined brows (ALWAYS), and bright bright lips.

And really, you only ever see the "best" of me ... most days I'm lucky if I don't look half dead and hungover... I have just spent way too much time in front of a mirror with youtube videos. ;)

I'm obsessed with doing my eyebrows up--- I think it's the most important step (for me) to look put together, and one that gets overlooked a lot. My eyebrows have a pretty good shape naturally, but do taper off on the ends a little early and have a tendency to get unwieldy (they are curly, after all). I pencil them, brush them, trim them, coat with a brown gel, let dry, and then coat with a clear gel. I'm not even kidding -- my brows take more time than the rest of my face.

I also practically never wear makeup unless I'm going out. Work is lucky if I throw on some mascara (I have blonde-ish eyelashes, so mascara is what I pick if I only have time for one thing).
  • I generally just go pretty basic, eyeliner and such. I've recently started playing with eye-shadows when I go out and attempt to do a smokey eye. My fallback is just black eyeliner on top and bottom for something dramatic. I HATE how I look with lipstick on .....

I think we all have one trouble feature that takes a lot longer than the others.

One of my eyelids sags way more than the other (I am considering plastic surgery if it doesn't correct with weight loss), so I have to take a lot of extra care to get my eyes to look 'even' given they're not the same shape.

I'd love to see how you do your liner, if you have a photo. I've never managed to get liner to look right on my bottom lid, but I do like the look of a fully lined eye. I think it makes eyes look brighter!

I understand. I have a dark circle under one eye and a lot of redness in one cheek. It's really frustrating to try to balance and blend :\

I really like this too. My normal everyday look is some cream color on the lids, eyeliner (usually upper lid only), and mascara with my trusty cherry chapstick. I definitely need to play around more with lip color.

I really like the simplicity of this makeup:

I love this look. Very sweet -- that matte color is darling, and I love the warm blush. I always end up gravitating toward pinker blushes because this richer ones scare me, but it looks great! I should be bolder.

I also can't do anything with a pencil liner so I use liquid which I know can be tricky sometimes too.

I prefer a darker eye and lighter lip...but for work, I'll so a light, shimmery powder for my eyes and some colored gloss. I love gel/cream eyeliners. You get the look of liquid, but with more control.

Physician's Formula makes a really awesome and creamy gel liner -- they're in sets of three for different eye colors (but I don't pay attention to the different eye color stuff...) just look for the stacks of cubed gel liners. Definitely get an angled brush, too. (Sonia Kashuk at Target has one, it's white).

Allie has asked me about making a video for winged liner .. maybe I'll throw one together this weekend.

E.L.F. makes a good/cheap liner too if you want to just play around with colors and such. I wear the dark plum most days.
