Someone shared this with me so I thought I would share the information!
Minnesota Distance Running Association (MDRA) is the organization that sets up the $1 running twice a week at the Metrodome
They also offer free/very cheap races to members all year round! Your $25 annual membership will entitle you to 3 free races every year, a free magazine, race calendar, plus many more benefits!

Many of the races they sponsor are very inexpensive for members. For example the 25k I will run in April will only cost me $5. For a list of all their sponsored races look here:
