Hi fellow GF-ers,

I am always on the hunt for GF products (I have an especially hard time because I'm also allergice to dairy and yeast). I wanted to share an App and ask for more app recommendations.

I've found an iPhone app that really helps me! It's called Fooducate Allergies. This app ROCKS! https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/allergy-talk-by-fooducate/id518115987?mt=8

Here's how it works: After you install, pick up to 3 allergies such as gluten. Then you just scan the barcode of your favorite food and it displays info (you can search too). If the icon is green, it is gluten free. If the icon is yellow, it MAY have gluten. If red, it does have gluten. Other users can comment to help correct errors.

But here is the BEST part: click the Alternatives button and it displays a list of GF substitutes for whatever you scanned! So you can scan your favorite bread/cereal/muffins/etc. and see new GF options. It rates them as A, B, C etc. for how healthy/unhealthy each choice is. This app really helped me adjust to GF eating and I use it every time I go grocery shopping.

Fooducate makes a general app too (where foods are rated A, B, C for healthy/unhealthy) and a diabetes version too, for both iPhone and Android: http://www.fooducate.com/

So..... What is your favorite GF app? :)

I believe it is $3.99 on iPhone. The regular Fooducate app is free, but I pretty much only use the Gluten-Free one.
