Hi! I've started running this year. I am up to running 5k in 34 minutes. I'm okay with my pace and hope to add some distance soon. I need some running friends to help me stay excited about it. Any encouragement or suggestions on how to make the run more enjoyable is welcome.

Hi! I too am a 2013 newbie. My goal was to run a 5k by the end of the year, but I was a lot better at it than I thought I would be and so I already did one on 2/2. I finished at 36:40. It was really hard though...harder than I thought it would be. (Sensing a pattern here.)
Anyway, I'm just working on being able to go faster and longer little by little. Also learning how to find a nice pace where I can just enjoy it. Sometimes I am struggling mentally, though and then I find it helps to change my step pattern up and be a little silly. Since I run before dawn most times, I'm not embarrassed.
I'd like to do another 5k soon. But first I want to increase my comfortable distance to 5 miles. I think I will be less intimidated that way come race day. One day this year I'd like to be able to do 5k in under 30 minutes too....0 -
Hi guys! Another newbie here! Started running just before Thanksgiving. Then started training for my first 1/2 marathon on April 6th. No injuries and trainng is going great!!! A little over a month until the big day.....we should be proud of ourselves!!!0

Just finished the Couch 2 5k program a week ago! My first 5k isn't until May 4th so hopefully I'll be faster by then! Any tips are appreciated! I'm between an 11:30-12 minute mile.0
