Should I run today?

I ran my first 10 mile trail run yesterday. My feet hurt a lot today from using muscles that I haven't used before (not an injury). I'm considering a regular road run at lunch today but am wondering if I should wait another day or so for the feet to recover. Any thoughts on this. I have access to a gym and can do low impact - elliptical and rowing - if resting the feet is better.

The opinion of someone who has never run that far at once: Rest.
(Just in case no one else posts. Of course lunchtime is over, so hopefully you made it if you decided to go for it.)
It is ok to rest. I find that I do better after a day or two of rest if I've overdone it a little. Also, someone taught me about the power of icing those non-injuries. It really helps.
Awesome job, btw.0 -
Speaking as one who has chronic plantar fasciitis because I never would take enough time off from running, don't overdo it. If you think your feet need a rest, and you have a low impact alternative, do that. Long term, you'll be much happier if you let yourself heal and rest.0

If you are new to distance it is better not to run two days in a row. I think it is usually better even if you are used to it, but opinions on that vary.0

Listen to your body. Also, if 10 miles isn't a routine distance for you, then take the day off. My long runs are always Saturday (7-10 miles) and I always take Sunday off. You worked hard, so you deserve a rest day. If you don't want to "rest", do yoga, cycle, or walk. Great run!0

Thanks all. 10 miles is a routine distance for me, but that is road running and not trail running. The rocks and hills made my feet more sore than I expected. I ended up resting yesterday and the feet feel much better. I will try a lunchtime run today.
Can't wait to do another trail run, though!0 -
I realize that I'm late to the party with an answer, but my general rule is to go shorter and on a different surface if I'm hurting a little after a long run. However, if there are blisters involved I would definitely take the day off from running.0
