Road Trip

Ok, you folks got me inspired with the road trippin' and rally talk on other threads.

I said something about going west, but there's a Vintage Bike Rally at the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, IA. in June.

I'm goin'.

About 800 mi. from my front door, depending on how I go. Figure I'll head up through Kentucky , hang a left at some point toward St. Louis, then north in some way to Anamosa, Iowa. Should be fun, I'll take a couple days to get there, get to see a bunch of cool old vintage iron, take in the museum, wander the swap meet, then after a couple days, head back to East Tn.

Anyone been there?

I haven't been there but I've heard it's awesome and one of the BEST places to pick up vintage parts. I'm excited for you! Which bike are you taking?

Well, since its a vintage thing, I thought about throwing the Norton on a trailer, driving out there, and just riding it around, but then I don't get to ride much which isn't what I wanted. Besides me having a trailer at a huge swap meet could be a real bad thing !!

Soo, decided to ride, will be on my 2011 Ducati Multi Strada.

I'd be tempted, but will be out west on vacation in June. I got family in Northern Iowa and this sounds like a heck of a good excuse to put a couple thousand miles on my Ultra Classic.

That sounds great! I'm planning to hit some of the "America's Byways" roads this year.
