Thread of pleasant surprises!

I have this really bad habit of forgetting positive things quickly, and dwelling on the negative. So why not write them down? And better yet, why not give EVERYONE a chance to post their pleasant surprises somewhere?:happy:

For me, I discovered that my hip measurement has gone under 40 inches! I started out at 43/44, and have pretty much always been there, so that made me super happy. Today, my new skirt came in. I tried it on, and my VERY first thought was how great I looked in it. That almost made me cry!:laugh:

So, what's surprised you recently?

My pleasant surprise was this: towards the end of last week I totally lost motivation for my diet and indulged in a sort of treat binge. I went over the my calorie goal big time for a couple of days.

I was super angry, discouraged, frustrated, etc., and felt like just giving up and giving in. Instead, I dragged myself to the gym and worked twice as hard, even though my eating wasn't the best over the weekend. The result? I actually lost half a pound. It wasn't the kind of week I was hoping for, but it goes to show that a few slips don't have to mean a major step back.

Pleasant surprise for me - I've been trying to measure and haven't seen ANY difference in my size at all, and I was frustrated, especially after losing over 25 pounds. Well, last weekend I grabbed some jeans at a store I had a coupon for, figuring I'd try them on (these are my normal brand of jeans too when I wear them, which isn't often). I grabbed a 22 (which was my normal) and a 20 just for fun. The 20 not only fit, they were loose! Grabbed an 18 then to try those out and they ALMOST fit. So, it might not be showing where I'm being measured but there's certainly a difference somewhere!

I have lost 19.5 inches from my body. It was a very very pleasant surprise!
