Hello, everyone my name is Vince. Been strength training for about 37 weeks now, but started working out about 2 years ago. I have been able to gain over 30 pounds! Just started tracking my nutritional intake as I eat too many cheat meals sometimes.
The two books that helped me out the most were Starting Strength and Practical Programming for Strength Training both by Mark Rippetoe. And just like it says on the back, if you read these two books you'll be ahead of 90% of people at the gym.
The whole time I've been strength training I have been on linear progression, but now I'm getting to a point where it's time to move on to the Texas Method.
Right now I'm trying to add the Olympic lifts to my program, but barely have the technique right.
