Hi
Name's Aimee!
I'm going to be starting Stronglifts 5x5 this month, I'm just going to get to a good point in the programme I'm doing now (made by a trainer) and have a few "start up sessions" with my fiance. He's done 5x5 before and is going to walk me through both workouts A and B to get my starting weights and make sure I'm doing the lifts correctly!
I'm quite excited about this.
I'm going to be fitting in some cardio, but I am NOT a 20-30 mins on the elliptical/treadmill kind of girl! My gym has a Prowler which I love so I will be using that which is fun (and hard work!)
I'm overweight, currently 219/220 lbs - 5' 7". UK size 16/18. I'm not massive by any means and I can still look good in clothes, I just wouldn't mind being a bit smaller and certianly not as soft! I've come to the conclusion that the only way this is going to happen is if I lift HEAVY.
I also want to be strong.. like.. "oh dude is that you're girlfriend over there squatting more than you" strong (ok.. maybe not more [maybe in time!!].. but I'd like to certainly be working my way towards some of the lifts my fiance can do!)
So that's me. I'm probably going to keep a blog about it when I start which will probably be nearer the end of the month, so for now I'm going to have a nosey through this group![:) :)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Thanks for taking the time to read.
