Newbie here

Good Afternoon.... I was recommended this group by a fellow member, and I am glad to see fellow riders here who want to succeed at losing weight besides me. Hopefully for those of us that are enduring winter weather, spring will arrive soon so we can ride!

    Hey Nut,

Welcome to the group. I've been in here a for a month or so and no one has kicked me out yet. I think they're all cool.

I'm one of the fortunate ones. I live near New Orleans and ride year round. Last week it was in the 30s-40s on the way to work, but some chaps, a balaclava, gloves and a leather jacket was all you need.

One of the things I needed to do was drop ~30 lbs so I could wear my leather jacket again. I wore it Friday, so it was a victory for me. It will fit even better after I drop a few more.

    Yep, welcome to the group.

Being in East Tn, I'm also not as locked down by weather as others but, still looking for the oppurtunity to ride regularly again.
Think everybody here is feeling the same way right about now ; itching to get out, making upgrades to their bikes, planning trips.
Just ordered a different seat for my bike, and planning a weekend ride through the Ga. Mountains in a couple weeks. Should be solidly in the 50's and 60's then.

I'm fairly new to the group as well. I can't wait for Spring to finally get here and start riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway. My dream ride is to ride out west starting in Virginia, hitting California, then head north on the PCH all the way to Washington. Safe travels everyone!

Ges, thank you very much. I worked my *kitten* off, literally LOL, and I am finally believing I will make it to the end of my journey :) I am sure riding on the bike this Spring will be a whole new feeling being so much lighter. And you are so right. The Blue Ridge Parkway is Soooo Beautiful. Where do you live now?

I've been in Colorado for something like 17 years now, but I grew up in Pittsburgh and lived in central Maryland before Colorado. I wouldn't ever want to move away from the Rockies now. The Appalachians are softly beautiful, the Rockies are dramatically beautiful, and I've gotten used to NO BUGS out here.

Good deal. Better health = longer rides and feeling better while you are out there.
