Hey girls!!

So, my tom is approaching. Since I started working out, it has been much more bearable (helping some, but not all, symptoms). But this month, I've already gotten the all-too-familiar pms headache *twice*. This is usually followed by a day of uncontrollable sleep (it's truly as if I've been drugged) before good ole AF finally shows up. I'm often weaker, both in strength and in willpower during this time too. (I won't even go into the chocolate cravings. sigh.) So, I'm just putting this out there for extra support for that time of the month. I guess I just need someone to say that it's okay to sleep alot and it's okay to not workout at full power, as long as I "show up" and make the effort to do the workout.

Any support and/or empathy appreciated.

Anyone else know what I mean? Or could also use some support for the cursed time of month?

I often find myself eating more (not always bad, but more) and not able to work out in full power. I do still give it my all, it is just that "my all" is a little less than normal.

I am on TOM right now too. I have not wanted to work out this week, but I have done a few things. I have eaten too many cookies this week too. You are bound to do something that you know you shouldn't. Just brush it off and start over with a new attitude.

We all go through it... mine to is approachng and i crave cholocate like crazy!!!!!! Its ok to sleep a lot ... and not work out at foll power this TOM guy really gets the best of us some days!!!! here is what I found helps me!!!! i drink a lot of grean tea sweetened with spenda or stevia during those days!!! it helps the sweet cravings, the sleep and the water retention problems!!! I also try to go through my regular workouts even if ist at half the regular power ... Showing up is important and its important to keep at it so you don't kick the good habit you have formed!!!

Regarding the chocolate.... I try to avoid it at all cost ... I am like a chocaholic... once I have a bite I cannot get my hand out of the jarr and if I open a chocolate I end up eating the whole thing... but in cases of extreme necessity i have one kiss... a single one and suck on it to make it last longer....

    hope this helps!!!! and g-luck!!!

Well, this time around, chocolate turned out to be the only logical answer for me. (Thank goodness I'm not on a very-low-calorie diet!) Chocolate fixed me right up, but still no AF though. WeiRd!

Ugghhh...AF is a PITA! Especially when trying to lose weight. Don't fret. Just try and rest as much as your body needs to. You're not going to gain your weight back in the one week just from not exercising as much. As for the chocolate cravings, I find what helps me is the Weight Watchers frozen snacks. They're good, sweet, chocolate, and best of all, not many calories! Hang in there....it's only a week! You CAN do this :)

So, I weigh myself once a week and have you all noticed that you are gaining during your TOM? Or have you still been able to consistently lose in spite of it? I have had lots of people warn me against the one week weight gain...I haven't had it yet since I started eating healthy and exercising about 5 weeks ago...

I don't weigh (no scale), but in the past I've always gained during tom. It isn't real weight, just water retention. I'd say don't weigh during that time so you don't drive yourself nuts.
