Well last night at hockey I tore my MCL.. i am banished from all crossfit, hockey and vball for 4-6 weeks.. anyone have ideas or suggestions where I can keep the muscle mass I gained from all the hard work I put in? I will be allowed to do seated stuff with my arms in a week or so, but nothing light, even swimming... This is breaking my heart, as I have been working so hard training for this summers tough mudder, traithlons etc.. plus i was excited to look amazing in florida in vegas :( Pity party of one lol

Sorry. But, you're gonna be fine. I tore my ACL and some cartilage and had surgery to repair them. I was on crutches for 12 weeks, and could do nothing lower body for another 1-2 months after that.
But, I got through it. It was hard. My fitness suffered. But you also learn things about yourself, and your training, and when it is over it is over.
Hang in and do it right! Don't cheat ! It will only hold you back long term and might cause a serious problem.

Are you going to have to have surgery? Sounds like no? You are lucky!

I tore my ACL also at hockey in 1999, was out 6 months. You will probably have therapy and be able to do some weight lifting with your leg in no time. They had me up the day after my surgery - the sucky thing about mine is the muscle "forgot" how to work in my thigh because of the surgery and cutting in and I was starting pretty much from scratch it sucked.

It seems like you will still be able to do all your summer plans? When is tough mudder?
