Hi guys! I have surpassed my original weight loss goals by 5lbs, but still don't quite have the body I'd like. I've done some heavy lifting before, but not really to any routine, and with unimpressive results. I can't wait to try this! I will be starting Monday after work with my hubby (who is strong but could really stand to lose 20-30lbs of fat).

I will be working out Mon, Wed, and Fri or Sat, and eating ~2200 calories (My TDEE). I'm 5'9, 148 lbs, and stuck between an 8 and a 10 pant size.

I would love some new friends who lift and eat a decent number of calories, particularly somewhat clean eaters with high protein so that I can stalk their profiles. No judgement though!

The only thing that I have given up on this journey is wine (and other alcohol but that wasn't an issue) Monday-Thursday... um... Sometimes... Maybe :blushing:

I definitely need to go watch all of the videos on form. The deadlifts especially scare me to death. Back injuries are the worst. Anyway, off to read some of your responses to the other newbie and FR her :flowerforyou:

    Hi, Lila, and welcome!

Wine I wouldn't give up. For a nice Sicilian girl such as myself, that simply wouldn't be sustainable, lol.

Form videos were a godsend to me. After watching, I as able to convince myself that I could do this. So, now I'm hooked!

    Hi and Welcome-

You are free to add me. I just started. Will finish up week 2 tomorrow. I eat 1800 cal/day, I am still below my TDEE because I have 40+ more lbs to lose. I try to limit my processed stuff as much as possible, sometimes it is hard with my job and my lazyness. I do like to cook so that helps. I eat real foods and I do not limit myself or I guess I should say eliminate anything from my diet. I like to think I have a realistic long term eating habit going on. I know it is something I can live with the rest of my life.

Congrats on being slow close to goal!

Good for you! I'll hold you to it (metaphorically speaking anyway). Why then?

Hiya. I started SL a month and a half-ish ago and LOVE it! Never weightlifted before this, am impressed with results of baby muscles growing into toddler muscles and starting to peek through fat.

I eat in the 1900 range, mostly meals of chicken and salads/veggies with protein powder and yogurt. And lots of cake and string cheese. Baking will be the death of me. All my stuff is open and feel free to add me.

LOL Something like that! I need to have one more week with the trainer to work on my form on the press and OHP, and then I'll feel confident to start!

Hi Lila...welcome. You're welcome to add me (everyone is), though I do struggle with the eat more concept and am working on it. I'm also very short so I could only dream of eating that many cals....but I am working to build muscle and am generally supportive...

Anyone in this group is welcome to FR me, but I have to warn ya that I closed my diary yesterday because I found that being too open this early in the game and worrying about what other folk were thinking was too distracting for me. Not that anyone was actually thinking anything, just saying, I'm still working on getting my own head on straight. I'll open it again down the road, but right now I have to get my head around some things and find my footing.

I did it and I feel awesome!!! I did walk out of the gym like a new born filly, but who cares? It hurts so good :)

Squat: 45lbs - hard, barely finished the last set, but its the only bar they have
Bench press: 45lbs - medium difficulty, definitely could have done some more
Barbell rows: 50lbs - hard but doable

I need to get small weights though. The smallest at my gym are 5lbs. To stay symmetrical, I'd have to go up 10lbs each time. Impossible!!! I guess that I will have to look for those bored out washers....
