HI ladies lovely to find you all. Did day1 of 5x5 today and would love some strong gal friends to add to my fun sassy mfp friends! I'm a 6 foot 177lb tall girl, the first 3 today I did were squats 40kg (felt I could have done a bit more) chest press 25kg (manageable just) and pendlay rows 30kg (struggled!). Never done any of these before, have ventured into "the testosterone zone" a bit but only for pulley machines, hyperextensions etc. Have no benchmark so don't know if I'm being puny, setting off too fast or about right. Any advice always gratefully received! Any tips on the exercises I have yet to do, or what to do when not on a 5x5 day/to stay well rounded? Thanks!

Welcome to the group. When you first start, everything should feel very easy. Some of your weights seem kind of high for some of the lifts, and if you want to be able to steadily progress, you may need to drop the weight a bit. If you're already struggling, you won't be able to add weight, and it's the progressive adding of weights that increases strength and allows you to go further. So, as strange as it is, almost all the lifts should feel like a breeze when you start.

Welcome! And what she said. When I first started everything felt easy except the OHP. I am starting week 3. I have not increased my weight in the past 3 workouts because I want to concentrate on my form. I did increase weight in my bench and my deadlift though. Squats, rows and OHP have been the same.

    Squats 60lbs
    Bench 55lbs
    OHP 45 lbs
    Deadlifts 115lbs (woot woot!)
    Rows 70 I think

Right now I am more concerned with form especially my squats because I wasn't going completely parallel. Did today though!

Again welcome to the group! Great bunch of ladies and of course our 2 token boys!

I've been doing SL since December (with about 3/4weeks off for injury/health issues) and I'm only
    30kg bench
    25kg OH press
    35 kg row
    50 kg squat
    65kg deadlift

So your starting weights are fantastic (and I'm feeling puny). I'm 182cms tall and 74 kilo
