So, I recently re-upped my account after a year of inactivity on a 73m SP character. I was a jaded 0.0 player sick of the fact that I could not log on without devoting 3+ hours to game time minimum, which is why I left. Recently re-upped and enlisted in Gallente FW because I wanted to be able to get my PVP on without being pressured to fly ships that are too expensive for someone who only plays for an hour or two at a time, one or two days a week, to be able to replace. Anybody else play?

Yep me although I have had an extended break as well - need to get back to it in the evenings after work ...

Have now almost retired my Dell Alienware laptop from being used for work (replaced by MacBook Pro - just more carry-friendly) so it will live downstairs so when I am done writing for the day, I can come downstairs but still play.

I lost my old account so I just decided to start from scratch, relearning all my skills.

Ouch. That sucks. I know I would not bother if I lost mine.

I have two accounts. I am actually in the process of moving out of 0.0. I am tired of Eve feeling more like a job than a game anymore. I belong to an alliance that is allied with the Goons. All we do now is deploy...deploy..deploy to pvp. I am tired of someone else telling me how to play a game I pay for.

I love the game but it can be very time consuming. I'm hoping that by moving back to empire, and getting involved with more of the PVE stuff, I can find the joy I had initially when playing. I don't mind killing the occasional capsuleer, but structure shoots and monster fleet battles were wearing pretty thin.

    Why not try FW?

The new destroyers look interesting and the buffs to t1 frigates and cruisers over the last year have all but obsoleted their t2 counterparts except in certain situations. Basically, they tremendously buffed T1 frigates, cruisers, and battlecruisers as a whole but did not buff the t2 ships based on those hulls. The end result is that in many cases T1 ships outperform their t2 counterparts often in larger size gang/fleet settings with T2 ships only being preferable in situations that emphasize survivability over all else. In other words, solo and very small gangs. Some of the changes I like, some I don't. Also it looks like they did a few nerfs here and there to select Minmatar ships because the Hurricane and Rupture, which were already ridiculously powerful for their class, received slight nerfs while the rest of the ships in their class got buffed tremendously. And the Rifter was TOTALLY unchanged from what it was before the global buffs to T1 frigates. The fact that they felt to either leave alone or nerf these ships in the wake of massive buffs to EVERY other ship in their class should tell you how OP they were.

I'm liking the new destroyers a lot. Also, changes to rat AI have made drone ships no longer viable for running high level missions or plexes.
