Western michigan area

Hi everyone. Do we have many active people in the battle creek, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo area? I am looking for a support group of locals that would maybe want to meet up do run around with a soccer ball, or football or any kind of ball lol. Endurance and motivation seem to be my two weak areas, and when here is a sport involved I tend to forget that it's me working out. I train twice weekly with a trainer but am looking for some fun cardio on the side.

Unfortunately I'm having a hard time finding people too. I'm in Grand Rapids.

I am just out south of GR (wyoming area). Add me if you would like. I don't drive but I would love to become more active. This is where Nerdy chic is not so beneficial hahah.

    Holland MI Here!

I play on a pick up broomball league on Sundays in Walker Ice and Fitness in GR with a group of guys in gals, Tons of fun, alot like field hockey, except on ice (no skates) It's great to be able to get out and run around on a regular basis for sure.

No skates! Anyone can play. There's special shoes, which is the bulk of the equipment cost, but we have a few old loaners too. It's like floor hockey on ice with a weird stick and a big ball. It's a lot of fun, but wipeouts are pretty unavoidable running around like a crazy person on ice lol.

Broomball pretty big up in Minnesota and Canada, Michigan Tech has the largest organized league in the world, but yeah, around here, most people get all wide eyed when I talk about it.

I can add you to the e-mail list if you like! We play every Sunday, all year if we can keep attendance up in the summer. If you have some hockey equipment that helps, Walker Ice and Fitness doesn't have any helmets to loan out right now (they will later this summer) but they do have sticks and we have a few pairs of spare old shoes people can borrow until they make the investment.

We've got two ladies that regularly show up (one out with a baby right now) and several others that come from time to time, no checking or anything like that of course, not to say you may not have a crash from time to time.

I would LOVE to be added to the list. How fun is that?! I don't have any hockey equipment but I know of where I can get some cheap and I don't have shoes and don't have a clue on where to get those.
