Anyone else in Tucson up for doing weekend hiking day trips or short things like Tumamoc? I'm still considered a beginner but I'm motivated to accomplish things, and thought it would be fun not to do it alone!

A bit late in the season for me. Personally I hike Oct-March. Otherwise it starts getting hot. Unless of course you're headed up the mountains then that wouldn't be too bad.

Hehe I'm up in Phoenix but I hike 12 months a year :) It's just that in the hot months I wake up around 3 AM to get out by 4 AM and home by 6 or 7 AM (shorter hikes) Occasionally we'll do 1 or 2 hour hikes late in the afternoon, our rule is at or under 105 if we can get some shade from the hills early morning/night.
