Pet-friendly vacation spots...

So I'm looking to get away for a few days this summer with my pets. Maybe do a week rental. The place where I typically stay is booked solid up through my half-marathons, so those are out. Does anyone have any suggestions of good places to go that would allow pets? I have two chihuahuas, so they are on the small side. I should also mention, I'm on the East Coast (Pennsy) so a few hours drive would be great.

    Hiking with pets or just a nice place where can leash walk them?

    For hiking, I recommend the Mount Washington area. North Lincoln. Lots of pet friendly hotels.

    For leash walking, I recommend Wrightsville Beach, NC. Beach and sidewalks and lots of rentals.

    possibly a cabin in Gatlinburg, TN. elk creek resort i think is the name. i have 2 med-lrg dogs and it was reasonable to rent a cabin from them. also, Hotel Indigo is pet friendly. Indiana has a couple of locations, Columbus is one of them.
