flare and mfp

I seem to be flaring, wanting to throw up in the morning, and pain throughout the day. Yesterday was real bad, for about 30 minutes I debated a trip to the ER. Thankfully, meds finally kicked in and after I ate I felt much better. However, this morning is already looking like yesterday. Anyone have any tips on how to not gain/or lose weight while flaring? For me I usually turn to carbs and a more fat (fat digests slower) when flaring. But how do I keep from gaining weight? I have worked so hard to lose the weight, I do not want to gain it back. Ugh!!!

my GI told me to avoid fat for that reason - it's hard for our bodies to digest, and during a flare we need to give 'em as much of a break as possible.

I've gone gluten free, low residue, and I stick to lean meats since my bowel resection last month (and getting diagnosed with the disease) I've noticed a huge reduction in symptoms and eating a lot of healthier foods mean I don't worry at all about gaining.

today I'll have a banana & almond milk smoothie, a mango/greek yogurt smoothie, chicken and white rice, chicken and roasted carrots (overcooked so I can digest them) and one homemade rice krispie treat (less marshmallow) for dessert.
