hmmm i seem to have a small problem that i am not sure how to fix... i work 12 hour shifts 6 days a week at a very low paced job but one that i must stay completely alert at at all times(i cannot change my hours). I usually do my work outs after work or before i get up (mostly right after work so there is no rush in the mornings.) my problem is that I cant seem to get enough sleep, I should be sleeping like a log considering how tired i am but for some reason I keep having a hard time getting and staying asleep.I cant be exhausted when i go to work and i cant be nodding off when im in school(plus sleep is recovery time for the body). I want to keep up with the p90x work out scheduled very badly but i seem to keep having to have 2 rest days instead of one because i am literally to tired to be able to force my self out of bed.i feel horrible and like a failure! am i just being lazy?does any one have any suggestions on how to fix this? thanks!

Couple of questions. How many hours of sleep to you get a night? Are you taking vitamins? Are you giving your body enough food to give you enough energy for that type of workout program?0

for sleep wise the days that i am doing my work outs i'm getting any where from 6-8 hours of sleep depending upon if i get held over at work, projects that are due for school etc. and i eat about 1700 to 1800 calories a day that is for the most part well balanced (and im completely full through out the day)i don't drink caffeine since i'm allergic to coffee and i'm not fond of energy drinks or soda(i mostly just drink water or soy milk) I haven't been taking a multi vitamin lately because my doctor told me that too much iron in my system is causing me some grief with my stomach.0

Bless your heart. I wonder if you should try another work out program that does not require as much time until you have more. P90X is a big time sucker. Maybe something that is only 20-30 minutes long on the days you are more crunched for time and then throw in P90X on days where you have more? Sounds like you have a busy busy life between work and school. But even just walking 20 minutes a day or a short workout can be done. They have one called the 10 minute trainer by Tony that is supposed to fit the lifestyle of people just like you. It is a bunch of workouts that are just 10 minutes each. He said everyone should have at lest 10 minutes of their day they can spare. Then on days you have more time you combine workouts to make it 20-30 minutes long. That might be the best thing for you:)0

Don't feel guilty if you need the rest...you need to listen to your body. Lack of rest can cause negative results when you are trying to lose weight. I have a workout suggestion if you want a routine that is not so time consuming. I have been doing Jillian Michael's six pack in six weeks. It takes about 33 minutes including warm up and cool down and it is an incredible workout (especially level 2). If you need an even shorter one that still gives you a good workout her Ripped in 30 is about 25 minutes with the warm up and cool down. Good luck to you!!0
