Lots of ways to do it. In my opinion, women have a higher risk of running into problems with the marathon fasts, in comparison to men. Not to say women can't do it but you do have to use caution if going longer than 16 hours or so. Women's hormones are much more delicate then mens. That is why when women do extreme amounts of cardio, bad things happen. The longer I coach and the more I study, the more I am convinced that walking is the ideal cardio exercise for women. Now I am getting off topic.........

I like to stop eating after dinner, skip breakfast and eat an early lunch. It's that simple. For the majority of people, that should give you around 16 hours. It is important to get a large amount of calories, protein and fiber at dinner time to provide amino acids in the bloodstream for the majority of the fast to help prevent muscle breakdown.

I would advise taking one day off a week and eat breakfast. I like to do this on spike day. This may not be neccesary, but it could help prevent some negative responses to the fasting that some people may experience.
