Walking after lifting

Is it good or bad to go for a walk right after doing SL? I've just heard that the body is burning a lot of calories after lifting weights, so I thought it'd be a good idea to take a walk afterwards to burn even more calories. Or is that just plain stupid for some reason?

Go ahead and walk if you would LIKE to walk but no need to force yourself. It won't help or hurt you either way, other than that it might keep you from getting too cold immediately post workout, especially if you'd normally just go home and sit in front of the TV or something. The thing you are talking about is called the EPOC or afterburn (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excess_post-exercise_oxygen_consumption)
It is the energy your body burns repairing and recovering from exercise. It doesn't mean that you burn more calories by walking during that period than you would by walking during ANY other time of the day0 -
I think it is a good idea, and I have read alot that it is fine, although it isnt necassary or going to make you burn more than walking any other time (like Tameko said)... I personally do a "cardio sandwich" around my lifting... ten minutes cardio before lifting to get my heart rate up, ten minutes after as a "cool down". I have always done this on strength days, I enjoy cardio so its my favorite way to start and end any workout I do.0

Thank you both so much for your response! And thanks for pointing out about the calories. I feel so much smarter now!0
