As some of you know, my 6 year old son had surgery on Monday and it turned out to be a bigger deal than we anticipated... it's all been a bit bonkers, to be honest with you.

...I'm not quite on track yet, but I haven't forgotten y'all... having said that, it's 12:45am now and I kinda need some sleep... BUT I promise to be back again tomorrow.

Thank you all for your support and for being active members of the group - I truly appreciate it! :)

Clear skies,

Richard

He was re-admitted to hospital yesterday (Saturday) because his stent is giving him a lot of pain. He'll be in over night. His Mum (my halfway ex - we're separated) is with him. Fortunately me and her are on good terms - it's kinda complicated but we still live together, but more like room mates, because he has mild autism and he's home schooled so right now I'm supporting them both.

He should be able to come home tomorrow... with stronger painkillers, we hope.

He's doing better now... thank you all for your support :)

He left hospital with a butt load of medication (literally, poor bugger) - pretty much every medication known to man, plus some unknown ones too. Except for morphine... but I can always jump into my blue box and go see Sherlock Holmes if he needs any.

He's been pretty much pain free since, but he's fought us on taking the meds. It's like trying to get a cat to swallow a pill. He's also mildly autistic, so I have to try and be patient and understand things from his point of view...

My youngest son (25) has mild Asperger's so I kinda know what you mean. Change can be harder on them whether it is due to surgery or a haircut.

He's sometimes okay with change but he can also be a major creature of habit. My ex put the ketchup on the wrong side of the hotdog (along the side, not the top like I do it) and I honestly thought he wasn't going to eat it.

Thank you, RS, for the kind words and thoughts! :)
