I would love for each person of this group to list any diet or exercise tip that has worked for you now or in the past. It might just be just what someone needs to help them be successful and motivated. Here are some of mine:
1. Move.Make it a point to get some form of exercise each day.
2. Pay attention to the sodium content of food.
3.Take one day,to cut up veggies, plan meals, snacks, cook and freeze individual servings(this has helped me not to binge)
4. SUPPORT! Encouragement, love and inspiration are important in this journey
5. Find out what is a serving size of the food you eat( I used to guess, and I was way over)
6. Most of all, feel good about yourself. We are our worst critics. We may slip up occasionally(we are human) but look how far we have come.
7. Have a can DO attitude,not a Can't do.
Hope to hear your great tips! ((((Hugs)))))

Great tips. Thanks for sharing!
Things that have helped me on this journey:
1. Track everything I put in my mouth
2. learn what it feels like to actually be hungry and not emotionally hungry
3. Read, read, read
4. pay attention to my portions...use a scale, measuring cups, smaller plates
5. group support
6. keep busy, get out of the house
7. journal
8. talking with a nutritionist
9. start with baby steps when it comes to movement. I am not a fan of exorcise so I started small with 10 mins at a time and then increase my time
10. know my trigger foods and abstain from them until I am in better place
11. know my trigger situations and plan for them
12. get a good nights sleep
13. schedule my meal times...use alarms on my phone
14. make a meal plan and spend a day preparing for the week if possible
15. Have an accountability buddy
16. Don't keep secrets about my eating
17. Think one day, one meal, at a time
18. think progress...not perfection
19. don't beat myself up when I slip...when I do, pick myself right back up and keep going.0 -
1. Patience is a virtue.
2. Don't let the scale dictate how you're progressing. It doesn't tell the whole story.
3. It's okay to have a bad day now and then. Pick yourself up and move on.
4. Weight loss doesn't mean giving up all of the foods you love. Losing weight does not mean eating bland chicken, salad, and steamed carrots until the end of time.
5. Do this for yourself. If you work for this for anyone else, you'll never be satisfied.
6. Body shaming is not allowed.
7. Eat.
8. Be honest with yourself... fibbing in your diary isn't hurting anyone but you.
9. Take baby steps. Unrealistic goals won't get you anywhere except frustrated.
10. Love yourself.0 -
I like all the tips I've read so far. This is what I try to do:
1. Learn what a portion size is for the food I'm going to eat & stick to it.
2. Don't use food to control my emotions. Look deeper inside to see what's causing me the problem.
3. Be accountable. Log everything in, including food & exercise. (I don't always log in all my cardio)
4. Have a support system. (Like friends, relatives & mfp)
5. Keep moving. It burns calories no matter how little.
6. Go to the supermarket with a comprehensive list. Keep to it. Shop the outside aisles of the store.
7. Take the time to cook, portion out, label & freeze my meals. All I have to do is defrost & heat.
8. Look for new recipes to try out for variety in my meals so I won't get bored & binge on something unhealthy.
9. Don't become a slave to the scale. That's self-sabotage.
10. Treat my body nice every day. It's the only one I have. Make the most of it.
11. Listen & learn what works for other people. They might have some tips that could work for me too.
12. Play with my dog. She's a great source of amusement. It's good to laugh every day.
Keeping a positive attitude is the best thing I can do for myself. I hope to learn from others posting here.0 -
Wow. I'm impressed, dear ladies. What wonderful tips. I am going to make note of these and add them to my list. You all are awesome. So inspiring.Another one I thought of,(Don't go to the grocery store hungry). Have a wonderful Easter. God bless.0

I agree with many of the tips already posted.
The only one I'll add is
PRAY to a Higher Being/Creator (whatever your religious/spiritual beliefs)
I have heard this saying -- PUSH -- Pray Until Something Happens.0 -
I like that. Praying is always good. Being thankful is another. Today wasn't the best. Had to deal with an emotional issue and only had a few hours sleep. I realized that is one of my triggers, fatigue and rainy day are not the best combination cause I want comfort food. Too tired to exercise. Tomorow is Easter. Moving forward!0
