End of Day 1!

Well, here we are at the end of day 1. I think I did OK. I didn't eat anything that had processed sugar in it (well except some left over Honey Baked Ham). But nothing with added sugar. What really killed me today was eating some baby carrots. That added 10 Grams! The ham wasn't really too bad on the sugar actually, only 5 or 6 grams. I was surprised to see celery had as much as it did too.
I did notice that MFP will up your sugar goal for the day when you exercise. I never realized it did that. I thought it only increased your calories, but it does all the values. But it makes sense.
I ended up putting in 42 Grams of Sugar for the day. I'm ok with it since it's day 1 and I spent an hour exercising, so that helps regulate the extra sugar I had!
How did you do?

I avoided candy, desserts, and did not add any sweeteners. I did have two packages of nuts and dried fruit. My eating options were limited today. Still, its a decent start.0

In my experience I think it is better to ease in. First cut out anything that came from a box or bag. Make any yogurt plain only. Only have the lowest sugar fruits. Then after a week or so cut out some of the leftover stuff like the yogurt and other milk products, carrots, potatoes etc...0 -
Im better to just jump in and go crazy. All or nothing is my motto!! Cold Turkey!! Go BIG or go home!0

That can be very good to do. The only problem is sometimes the body retaliates. Not for everyone, but for a lot of people. I have heard of people having some terrible withdrawal from sugar a few days in. I certainly hope I don't have any of that. I had a bit more junk on easter than I want to talk about. It made me feel like hammered hell. I was more than happy to get back on the wagon! :sick:0

I did really well for April 1st. Only 13 grams of sugar. The biggest splurge for my day was some 86% cacao dark chocolate. I had black beans with both my breakfast and dinner meals. I swear, legumes are magic little pills. They keep me full and satisfied. Side note, I have added digestive enzymes to my daily supplements which helps with not only the legumes but with all the veggies.0

i have to admit, i didn't realize how much sugar was in grapes or apples, thanks for starting this, because i didn't really limit my sugar when coming from fruit,,,i know i will still eat my fruit, but i will begin to make better choices0
