Gluten Free Low Fat, Whole Grain...Fantasy or Reality

This is a constant struggle for me. Does anyone have any good whole grain, high fiber, low calorie gluten free bread recipes for bread maker or oven? I don't eat a ton of bread, but there is only so much salad this guy can eat so a good whole grain bread, that won't totally break my calorie bank would a very welcome treat. All suggestions welcome.

I just made Pamela's brand Gluten Free Bread. The mix can be made in a traditional oven or bread maker. It has 3g dietary fiber per serving, and has "whole-grain" seal. You could always add extra fiber, but I really like this bread as is. It turned out super tasty and smelled amazing baking. To reduce calories you could also use egg-replacer/substitute to cut on calories and fat.0

Have you considered some of the traditionally wheat-free ethnic breads? Cornbread, tortillas, dosas, socca, injera, etc.

Thanks!! I did not realize Pamela's had one so I will give it a try. Bob;s Red Mill has a decent whole grain..but it is so calorie dense. I have yet to try the egg replacers but may just to get the calorie count down.0

i just posted this on another post but i found this the other day and there are loads of recipes on here cause i to was looking for gf bread with less calories.
the bread i made was 188 calories a slice i worked out. far too much and also looking for yeast free ones as i keep forgetting how i bloat with yeast as i rarely eat bread now and replace it with gf rice cakes or gf crispbreads.
I'm going to make it again but with just the egg whites next time and see if i can get away with out adding the 6 tbsp of oil. you can see where the extra calories came from.0 -
Yeah unfortunately that's the trick with gfree. For bread or bread like products it needs so much fat just to make it taste good. I too often just skip the bread but every once in awhile I just want a sandwhich that isn't going to take up a whole day's worth of calories.0

Try googling Breads from Anna. She has a wide variety of gluten-free bread products to suit many needs. Her products can be used in a bread machine. I've not tried them yet but plan to & I don't have a bread maker yet.0
