At least you're a woman and don't have the burden slapped on you of having to approach someone to get a date like men do.

If it's a burden to ask women on dates, either you're asking the wrong women or you shouldn't be dating.
It's real fun hearing basically, "I don't want to get to know you more because my first impression of your looks isn't great." That's basically what it's like for every guy that's not Mr. Perfect.

Really, save your lectures on how it feels to be rejected on the basis of looks. There's not a woman on this board who couldn't write a book about that.

Is that what life looks like to someone that paints everyone with such broad brush strokes?

OMG. This is the clearest picture I've seen in years.

I am shy, but not introverted. I love being around people, and do not want to be alone.

But those of you who are shy, how do you handle dating? My ex-husband left me in September, and I have gone on two dates since. The dates went fine, but I was so anxious it was hard to handle. Hopefully it gets easier!

It's equally disappointing for women that dont get approached. I dont think it's easy for a guy, and I do empathise, but then again, it's not easy for women either. It would be great if we were all super models, but that's not realistic.

I do believe there is someone for everyone though, so one day that special person will say "I'd love to get to know you, especially now I've seen you have a large penis!"

And we're not talking short-story books, talking full length epic novels for most of us.

Even they could contribute, there is not a model at my company who has a boyfriend or who has gotten laid since christmas or before. they are too skinny, too intimidating, too successful, too much attention on them, etc etc etc

it breaks my heart, BUT it makes me feel better knowing that even models are constantly rejected for being too ___________ lookswise.

So, I stepped way outside of my comfort zone on Thursday.... (the day I drove from VA to FL).

I'm part of an online "100 Day Burpee Challenge". You start at your baseline, then add 1 burpee each day. On Tuesdays, there's an extra challenge that you have to video tape (ie - eating breakfast while doing 25 burpees, doing 13 burpees outdoors, etc). During the rest of the week, people have started to get creative with their daily videos. So.... I did, too.

On Thursday, I decided that in addition to my 35 for the day, I'd do 5 burpees in each of the 5 states I drove through. I'd record it with my mac and upload at Starbucks along the way. This was already stepping out of my box. To actually do a burpee in public? I had so much fun with it in VA, then found a park in NC to do it at. There was a maintenance worker there (of course). He watched and chatted away with me as I did my burpees. I was mortified but he assured me that he'd seen far worse. I convinced myself to step out of the box more and asked someone to tape me when I got to SC. In the back of a store! Yep...I did it. Then I got to GA and my plan was to hit the bar on Fort Stewart (the Army base). But, I couldn't find the bar. So, I found a couple guys and got them to follow me across the street to the tanks. They wouldn't video tape it (against Army rules), but they did take pics. We got to the tanks and these guys were so sweet.... One said "You have to do the burpees on top of it!!!". So, I did... How many people can say they've done that? Sadly, by the time I got to FL, it was too late to hit the liquor store as I planned....I ended up doing my last set in my hotel room at 1:30 am. But, I did them in every state. And, had so much fun. I talked to strangers, looked like a fool, but I made people laugh... It was a good day. :)

:blushing: Thanks guys..... It was way outside my norm. I don't like to do anything that would make me look "weird" but I had to push on and just go with it. I'm very glad I did. It was nice to make people laugh, and I actually started emailing with a lot of others in the challenge that I wouldn't have otherwise. :)
