Saying "Hello"

Hi everyone from the Bridgeport/Shinnston area! I am a father or 2 wonderful kids and a husband that NEEDS to make some changes (and break quite a few bad habits). I have just recently started seriously trying to get healthy and lose weight. I've been a "big boy" all my life. I have pictures of myself when I was younger where I am thin, but I cannot honestly remember them. I do, however, remember ALWAYS feeling fat and have the pictures to prove it.

When you get down to brass tacks, I am lazy. Always have been. It has led to a lot of failures and disappointments in my life. Growing up, my family didn't do anything to discourage this behavior and somewhat encouraged it by having the attitude that any problems were the fault of everyone else. For better or worse, they never accepted responsibility for anything. That is neither here nor there because this is about me. I am tired of being a slave to my laziness. (My wife is doing a little cheer from that statement.)

Unfortunately, I have the burden of having Multiple Sclerosis. With the MS, I have to be careful about how I exercise. But I am working through those limitations and trying to move on and ahead.

Does anyone else have physical limitations that they are trying to overcome?

Brian :glasses:

    Hello,

I'm not far from where you are. I live in Fairmont. I don't have any physical limitations other than the fat that I'm working on getting rid of. I'm hoping this group gets more active. It would be nice to hear about more local places where we can be active and exercise (such as rail trails, places to hike and swimming holes). Best wishes to you.
