I have a question for all of you ladies with High Blood Pressure and are on medication for it. Do you have diffuclties getting your heart rate up? I bought a heart rate monitor and realized that only running can I get my heart rate up to over 130. I cannot get it up on any other machine. Do any of you have the same problem? I am going to talk to my DR about going off my BP meds as since going on metformin my BP has dropped significantly despite being on a lower dose of BP medications.

I have the opposite problem! My resting heart rate is around 90-100 and while running gets up to 180 (and yet I don`t feel like I`m dying or anything!) and my blood pressure is always near the low end of normal. BUT I am not on any kind of medication at the moment.

Definitely sounds like a question for your doctor, if your blood pressure is going TOO low that`s almost as much of an issue as too high.

I thought that I saw one time that you were on blood pressure meds. I'm going to record my blood pressure every day and when I go back to the DR have that information with me to talk about going off of the meds!

When I feel like I'm dying while running my heart rate is maybe 150. good to know what your's gets up to. It definantly puts things into prospective.
