buying a Giant xtc 2

I'm wanting to buy a used mt. bike for my son's bday & found this one. Not real familar with giant or 29ers so was wondering if anyone else has thoughts on this. (its a 2009 model for $250 )

    I'm a big fan of Giant. Great bikes at an even better value. I had an XTC SE2 years ago, loved that bike! As long as the bike fits your son it sounds like you found a good deal.

    I ended up getting him a Giant revel 3 & he loves it! So excited to see him get into cycling. We hit some trails on sunday & really enjoyed some family bike time, even my granddaughter joined us for a bit ( 3 yrs old)
